"A bond's intrinsic value is based on the issuer's ability to pay, the general interest rates, the bond's interest rate and terms.
The market value of a bond is based on public exposure, ratings, opinions, and fashion. For the past twenty years, we have sought
out bonds we believe have a higher intrinsic than market value. While we cannot guarantee future results, so far we have been blessed
with no defaults in a bond we recommended or underwrote. "
- James W. Korth, Managing Partner

Company History
J. W. Korth & Company was
founded in 1981 by James W. Korth, following the successful distribution of $160 million of
GMAC debt securities to retail investors -- an industry first. On the buy side,
Korth's customers have generally been major U.S.
corporations and government agencies, as well as institutionally oriented
investment banks.
On the sell side, through its Selected Dealer Network, the
Company can address more than 70,000 Registered Representatives. J. W. Korth & Company exists, essentially, as a unique bridge
to the American retail markets for issuers and as an origination product
service bureau for investment banks and brokerage companies.
Over the years, Korth has developed
a number of products under the retail distribution concept. In early 1983, in
conjunction with Merrill Lynch & Company, the firm became the first
independent distributor of Certificates of Deposits to retail broker-dealers.
That same year, in conjunction with Salomon Brothers, Inc., the firm became the
first retail distributor of Certificates of Accrual on Treasury Securities
("CATS"), one of the most successful private securities programs in
history. In 1985, Korth advised the U.S. Treasury
Department in the creation of the blueprint for what would be known as the
"STRIPS" program, the largest zero coupon product in the world.
In 1986, the zero coupon division operating under the name
Securities/Net was sold to Manufacturers Hanover. Soon Securities/Net became a dominant wholesaler in the
then fast growing Certificate of Deposit business. The Company continued its
tradition of successful growth through the new product innovation. Korth became the first independent distributor of
Australian and New Zealand bonds to retail
investors. In 1986 - 1989, the Company
managed debt syndicates for many issuers on a firm commitment basis and in 1990 Korth began its now very successful General Term Note
® Program with Salomon Inc. This program has been in
continuous operation for more than ten years and has been emulated by several
other investment banks and issuers.
The following issuers have used J. W. Korth & Company as a lead manager for their syndicates.
